A fair to remember: Enjoy award-winning recipes year-round at home (Lawrence Journal-World)

Whether they’re 7-year-old newbies or seasoned adult chefs, the Douglas County Fair brings out plenty of cooks wanting to show off their favorite concoctions. This year’s fair, which ended last weekend, was no exception. Cakes, breads, pies, cookies and other creations tickled the judges’ tastebuds enough to earn top ribbons at the fair.
